Opioid Settlements

According to the Florida Medical Examiner’s Office for the 19^th Circuit, in 2024, 41 people died from opioid-related causes in Martin County. This is a 27% increase from 2023. We recognize that the number of individuals in our county whose lives have been impacted by an overdose death or someone experiencing an opioid use disorder is substantial.

Martin County Human Services is in receipt of our 4th year of funding stemming from the 18-year disbursements that will be used to help abate the impact of opioid-related issues and reduce the number of deaths in our county even more.

It is our hope these funds will help to not only continue to lower the number of deaths in our community, but also reduce substance abuse and the negative consequences that stem from those experiencing a substance-use disorder.
